The 2024 batch of university graduate recruits of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has expressed appreciation to the Multimedia Group Limited for its professionalism and support during their prolonged employment challenges.
In a citation presented to the media organisation, the teachers commended Multimedia for serving as a strong voice for the voiceless throughout the period when their appointments were revoked, later reinstated, and salaries delayed before eventual payment.
According to the group, Multimedia provided a credible platform to highlight their concerns and ensured their plight remained in the public domain at critical stages of their struggle.
“Through sustained coverage, interviews, demonstrations and picketing exercises, you ensured our story remained in the public eye,” the citation stated.
The commendation comes amid ongoing public debate over delays in salary payments and appointment validation for newly posted teachers — issues widely reported by JoyNews. Coverage included reports on picketing by unpaid teachers, the challenges faced by recruits since September 2024, and public warnings against fraudulent recruitment offers issued on October 27, 2025.

The GES recruits also praised Multimedia’s commitment to accountability, transparency and the public interest, noting that the coverage not only amplified their concerns but also helped draw attention that contributed to steps towards resolving the issues.
The group concluded by thanking Multimedia Group for upholding the principles of responsible journalism and for amplifying the voices of ordinary citizens in difficult circumstances.
