The Ghana Football Association has admitted owing former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah an outstanding amount of 106,000 dollars.
This amount is the remainder of Kwasi Appiah’s enticement fee after renewing his contract with the FA.
There is also an outstanding 20,000 dollars as winning bonus from the Black Stars AFCON 2015 qualifier against Togo in Lome.
“The truth is that there are some monies owed the coach from the Ghana FA's part and that is a remainder of his enticement fee when we extended his contract,” said spokesperson of the Ghana FA Ibrahim Saanie Daara
“From what I know it is about 106,000 dollars been the outstanding amount, there were arrears in terms of his salary and I knew that a few days ago there were moves to pay him but I don’t know if he has received those monies.
“The other 20,000 owed the coach is the winning bonus from the Ghana,Togo game in Lome and that has to be paid by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, from that game not only the coach but some members of the technical team were owed money and I think the Ministry will be in the right position to answer that.
“It is not a case of us refusing to pay or being in disagreement, we know that there are some monies owed and those monies will be paid when we have it.”
