Accra Hearts of Oak and pre-match favourites Aduana Stars settled for a goalless draw in the first group B game of the G6 tournament played at the Essipong Sports Stadium on Thursday evening.
The Essipong Sports Stadium was cut off from the nation grid over failure of the National Sports Authority to pay debts owed to the Electricity Company of Ghana.
As a result of this the stadium has been depending on power from generator to power the floodlight, since December 2014 when ECG disconnected the edifice from the national grid.
However, the generator developed faults ahead of the Hearts of Oak-Aduana Stars game and the organisers at a point threw in the towel, but surprisingly the situation was rectified later and the game that was supposed to kick off at 6:30 kicked off after 8:00pm.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Aduana Stars failed to score as the game ended in a draw.
