The Ghana Health Service Council will soon constitute a committee to review the appointment of the new medical director for the Ridge Hospital, Dr. Thomas Anaba.
Director General of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira says this has become necessary because of staff agitation over the appointment of the new Medical Director.
The Health Service called an emergency meeting Monday after protests by some staff of the hospital against the appointment of Dr. Anaba.
The staff petitioned the management of the hospital and the Ghana Health Service demanding that a probe be conducted into the selection of the new director, citing breach of procedure.
They also say Dr Anaba is not qualified to Medical Director.

According to the staff the hospital is a very important and strategic, hence ts management should not be left in the hands of inexperienced people.
Director General of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Appiah Denkyira told Joy News the council will look into the issues raised by the hospital staff to establish whether there was a violation in the appointment process.
“We have to get a team to look into the concerns that have been raised by to see whether they are factual or perceived,” Dr Denkyira said.
The Ridge Hospital, located in the Greater Accra Region, is a major regional hospital.
