Lebanese born in Ghana who qualify and opt for any course at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology will receive special attention.

It is in appreciation of continuous education support to the university’s Faculty of Law by the Lebanese Embassy in Ghana.

Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso, says strengthening relations between the university and the diplomatic mission will impact positively on society.

He spoke at a ceremony to present scholarship packages to 12 distinguished Law students by the Lebanese Community in Ghana.

The Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana, Ali Halaby, has over the years facilitated internship avenues for KNUST student beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme.

Professor Obiri-Danso is impressed by the gesture and he wants it sustained to benefit more students.

“I hope the scheme is continued to benefit other students in the faculty”, he said.

Dean of KNUST Faculty of Law, Prof. Lydia Apori Nkansah, said the scholarship will ultimately benefit the larger society.

“Investment in legal education Ghana is a good one which will go a long way to benefit the governance and development of our country. This is because the law is the bedrock of society.”

Lebanon Ambassador to Ghana, Ali Halaby, is happy about the impact of the scholarship scheme so far.
