All Ghanaian refugees who fled into Togo to escape violence in the Northern Regional town of Bunkrugu Yooyo have returned, the MP for the area, Duut Emmanuel.
With the return of the refugees, government says it is now focusing on efforts to construct new residential units for them as most of their houses were burnt in the violence.
The MP for Bunkprugu Yooyo told Joy News that calm has been restored to the town and the returnees are settling in with the help of the National Disaster Management Organization.
He said the returnees have been supported with roofing sheets and cocking utensils and are being guarded throughout the reconstruction process.
“People are working on their farms…currently all is calm and life has returned to normalcy.”
He called for education to conscientize the people about the impact of conflict and ‘to let them understand that conflict has no benefit”
