The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Simon Madjie, has called for stronger regional cooperation between Ghana and Burkina Faso to enhance trade and investment opportunities and accelerate economic growth across West Africa.
Mr Madjie made the call while participating in the maiden Invest in Burkina Faso Forum (FIIBF) held in Ouagadougou.
He was part of Ghana’s high-level trade and investment delegation led by Mr Sampson Ahi, Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry.
The forum, themed “Structuring Investment for a Sovereign Burkina Faso,” brought together government officials, private sector leaders, and international partners from 44 countries to explore investment opportunities, promote trade, and advance regional economic integration.
Speaking at the event, Mr Madjie commended the organisers for creating what he described as a timely platform to promote investment and partnership opportunities within the sub-region.
“This forum is an excellent opportunity to highlight Burkina Faso’s potential and attract international investors,” he said.
“I also see great value in Ghana and Burkina Faso working closely together to strengthen trade and investment across our borders. As neighbouring countries, we have a unique advantage to build mutually beneficial partnerships.”
The FIIBF featured high-level discussions, exhibitions, and engagements with the President of Burkina Faso, all aimed at showcasing the country’s investment potential and promoting sustainable economic development in the sub-region.
