The Elections Committee of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has officially released the full list of vetted and approved candidates eligible to contest in the upcoming GJA national and regional executive elections, scheduled for June 30, 2025.

A total of 13 national candidates and 49 regional candidates have been cleared to stand for various leadership positions within the Association.

The Committee further indicated that nominations for the Vice Chairperson position in the Volta Region remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2025.

Candidates who file and successfully undergo vetting before the deadline will be included in the elections.

According to the Elections Committee, all petitions submitted against prospective candidates were carefully reviewed and assessed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the GJA Constitution, as well as decisions and recommendations made by previous GJA Election Dispute Adjudication Committees.

“The Committee commends the petitioners for their vigilance and commitment to democratic due process within the Association,” the statement noted.

The Committee also extended its best wishes to all candidates as they enter the final stretch of the campaign period, ahead of what is expected to be a competitive and transparent election.

The full list of qualified candidates is published below.
