The focus of this weekend’s GLO premier league match day 29 will be on clubs that could confirm relegation with just two matches to end the season.
Any result apart from a win for either Berekum Arsenal or Wassaman will condemn one or both clubs to play first division football next season.
Arsenal host Wassaman at the Golden City Park on Sunday and it remains to be seen how the drama of an arranged live coverage on television will play out with the home side insisting cameras will not be allowed at the venue.
The position of Arsenal officials on the live television coverage of the game raises suspicions of an attempt to force a win over their visitors.
Chief Executive Officer of Wassaman United Kingsley Baidoo refuses to be drawn into the controversy. He explains his side is only focused on winning in Berekum.
“We know the importance of the game against arsenal sine it will determine our fate as far the premiership is concern”. He told JOY Sports
“We will take it as a normal game and I think we have done enough preparation to win this game”.
Bechem United must beat Dwarfs at home or confirm a quick return to division one after just one season. Dwarfs’ inconsistent form in the second half of the league is a source of hope to Bechem United who expect the Mysterious club to go down at the Bechem Park.
Only a miracle will save Mighty Jets’ season according to Coach Jonas Amissah who believes Hearts of Oak’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea yesterday would mean the Phobians will play it tough against them on Sunday at the Accra Sports stadium.
“I admit is not going to be an easy game taking into consideration the outcome of their game yesterday but in football nothing is impossible”
Asante Kotoko wants to finish the second round unbeaten and in the process maintain a record of just two defeats the entire season but this is threatened by their trip to Obuasi where they play Ashanti Gold.
Ashanti Gold has not won a game since Chelsea halted their seven straight wins six weeks ago and the Miners are under pressure to beat Kotoko.
Medeama SC will host Aduana Stars at the Tarkwa Park with Heart of Lions up against New Edubiase at the Kpando Park.
Tema Youth will be at the Tema stadium to entertain WA All while Liberty Professionals play Berekum Chelsea at the sly Tetteh Park.
