The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) headline sponsor of the Black Stars, has commended the team for their decisive victory over the Pharaohs of Egypt, on their onward march to World Cup 2014.
“We knew that the final play-off match was going to be a herculean task and therefore proud of your professionalism, teamwork, and resilience that enabled you to account for The Pharaohs of Egypt authoritatively at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi,” Mr. Alex Mould, Acting Chief Executive of GNPC stated after the match.
To the players and management, the Chief Executive said, 'Your spirit, drive and hard work are what have taken the Ghana Black Stars to this level. You have made all Ghanaians proud. We shall continue to work together for ultimate success in the last game.'
“GNPC see your victory as a giant step towards World Cup 2014, and trust you to remain a dependable partner, focused to complete the journey in the second leg,” Mr. Mould continued.
To the supporters union, the media and teeming Ghanaians who supported from far and near, the GNPC CEO said:
“We congratulate and salute you all once again for this partnership, which once again, enabled the Black Stars lift high the flag of Ghana and we must stick together to complete the journey in the second leg - Brazil 2014 World Cup beckons.”
Mr. Mould assured the Stars of GNPC’s continued support to lift them to the skies where they belong.
