Government says it will continue to review the ECOWAS protocol on Fulanis and those found guilty of crime will be incarcerated. Northern Regional Minister and Chairman of the Northern Regional Security Council (REGSEC), Moses Mabengba, made this known to Joy News during a Press Conference in the region on Friday. Speaking to Joy News’ Northern Regional Correspondent Mahama Shaibu after the press conference, the minister said “from time to time, we have to review the activities of our citizens within the sub-region, and so if Ghana finds the activities of a section of our compatriots not to be in tune with the protocol, we have to review it.” Mr Mabengba said the Mills-led administration has deployed more police personnel to the region to avert any Fulani attacks during the Christmas festivities. He however said the security apparatus have found a secured place for the Fulani people to also prevent reprisal attacks.
