Government has rejected suggestions it is reneging on promises made to the people of the Central Region.
Presidential aide Nii Lantey Vanderpuije was reacting to questions from journalists in the region after he unveiled a plan for the construction of an ultra modern market at Kotokuraba.
According to Joy News’ correspondent Richard Kojo Nyarko, some residents are eager to know when the Mills-led administration will start fulfilling its campaign promises for Cape Coast.
He said promises such as the construction of the Cape Coast sports stadium and the reconstruction of the Kotokuraba market have all delayed and that some residents believe the party is losing grounds in the region as a result of that.
But presidential aide Nii Lantey Vandepuije disagrees saying “the people of the Central region are so strong and solidly behind the president. It is basically the figment of the imagination of people who always want to use propaganda.”
He explained that the needed inspection for the commencement of the projects have all been undertaken by the contractors and will therefore begin in the course of the year.
