Bibiani GoldStars head coach Frimpong Manso has expressed his excitement after guiding the club to its first-ever Ghana Premier League title.
Heading into the final day of the season, the task was clear: Bibiani Gold Stars needed to win and hope that title contenders Nations FC dropped points.
Everything fell perfectly into place. GoldStars produced a dominant 4-0 victory over Accra Lions at Duns Park on Sunday, June 8, 2025, while Nations FC were surprisingly beaten by Heart of Lions, sealing a historic triumph for the Bibiani-based side.
Speaking after the game, Frimpong Manso praised the fans and the town of Bibiani for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
“I am very happy because when you look at Bibiani and its environment, this is the first time they are seeing a League trophy," he said.
“I’m proud to be part of this team. I’m also very happy for the people of Bibiani — they’ve done a lot of work. Everywhere we go, they go with us. We see them at home, too. I am very happy for them.”
GoldStars’ remarkable home form was a key factor in their title charge, losing just once and conceding only five goals in 17 matches at Dun's Park all season.
With the league title secured, Frimpong Manso will now turn his attention to continental football, as GoldStars prepare for their debut in the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League, a challenge that will require significant support and preparation.
