Actress, Entrepreneur and TV Presenter Yvonne Chinyere Okoro Okereke has denied speculations that she is getting married to a Nigerian, Igbo businessman from Abia State.
In the last quarter of 2014 and early 2015, there were rumours that the actress was set to marry a businessman from Nigeria which she denied, but media bloggers have insisted that the marriage plans are still ongoing.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz Entertainment news Thursday, the actress said she finds the news funny and that she has no idea how the rumour started.
She said she has never informed anyone about who she is dating.
When asked if she was indeed dating a Nigerian businessman, the actress was quick to say she was not going to discuss her private life with anyone because it is not for public consumption.
She continued that “if my supposed boyfriend is somewhere listening, this will put enough pressure on him to come forward and propose marriage.”
The “Contract” actress however said she used to feel sad when negative stories and rumours about her come up in the media circles but now she says it doesn’t affect her like before. Yvonne says she rather chooses to speak about it or ignore it.
Yvonne says she doesn’t want to disclose her plans for 2015 because she is unable to fulfill them when she talks about them. She however asked Ghanaians to keep their fingers crossed.
Yvonne Okoro’s movie, Contract, won the best movie award, and also won the best script and best video honors at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2014.
