Controversial Counsellor George Lutterodt has clarified his comment that gospel artistes, Cwesi Oteng, SP Kofi Sarpong and Nicholas Omane Acheampong, are irrelevant in the gospel music industry.
According to him, he meant to say that songs of the above-mentioned gospel musicians were irrelevant.
On Monday, Counsellor Lutterodt, who was a guest on Behind the Fame on Joy FM with Lexis Bill mentioned Cwesi Oteng, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, and S.P Kofi Sarpong as irrelevant musicians who are just adding to the number of gospel musicians in the country.
He made the comment after revealing that, hi-life artiste, Kwabena Kwabena’s ‘Bue Kwan’ song is one of the best gospel songs ever released in Ghana. He argued that the ‘Adult Music’ singer deserved to be awarded the Gospel Artiste of the Year in 2013.
But speaking the comment in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, Mr. Luttrodt said he intended to say that their songs are irrelevant and not the musicians themselves.
When the host enquired whether he rather meant the song of Cwesi Oteng, SP Kofi Sarpong and Nicholas Omane Acheampong was irrelevant, he answered in the affirmative
“Yes, that’s exactly what I meant, we are talking about the song and we are comparing the song of Kwabena Kwabena to other songs,” he said.
Kwesi Ernest, the manager of gospel musician S.P Kofi Sarpong, commenting on the issue urged Counsellor Lutterodt to appreciate gospel musicians in Ghana.
Kwesi Ernest suggested that the utterances of George Lutterodt are not befitting of a counselor and he must give respect to brands.
