Joni & Friends donate wheel chair, crutches to disabled in Aflao

US-based non-governmental organisation, Joni & Friends, has partnered with Voice Miracle Church International, located in Aflao in the Volta region, to provide essential support to individuals with special needs from Ghana and Togo.

Over 200 wheelchairs, modern walking sticks, crutches, and other aids were donated to those in need during a short ceremony.

Specialists were on hand to carefully examine and fit each recipient with the appropriate equipment, ensuring maximum comfort and mobility.

Team Lead for Joni & Friends, Joel Andam Kwansah, said the group was committed to supporting the underprivileged in society.

He emphasised that the overwhelming need they've encountered propelled them to extend their outreach to Aflao, viewing it as an opportunity to spread awareness and foster inclusivity.

The Founder and General Overseer of the Voice Miracle Church International, Apostle Jacob Henyo, drew inspiration from scripture, particularly Luke 14:21-23, which underscores the need to care for those with disabilities.

He emphasised the church's role in providing sanctuary and support, urging congregants and the public to actively engage in charitable endeavours.

Apostle Henyo also took the opportunity to encourage his congregants and the general public to actively participate in the ongoing limited voter registration.

As the recipients of this generous gesture embrace new found independence and dignity, the ripple effects of this benevolent act resonate far beyond the confines of Aƒlao, inspiring communities to come together in service of the vulnerable.

The ceremony, which brought together the Paramount Chief of Aƒlao traditional area, Torgbui Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V, underscored the significance of such initiatives in enhancing the quality of life for marginalised individuals.

Torgbui Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V expressed profound gratitude to the organisers and encouraged others to emulate their example, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in uplifting the less fortunate.

Some of the beneficiaries thanked the donors and expressed their excitement for the gesture.
