Ghanaian boxer Joseph Agbeko is already in talks for another world title fight after a second straight defeat to Abner Mares in California last Sunday.
Agbeko failed to reclaim the IBF Bantamweight title he lost to the Mexican last August as a unanimous points decision defeat denied him with 118-110 on the cards of all three judges on Sunday
In an interview with joy sports, he admitted his disappointments of not been able to defeat the Mexican for the title but hope to return to being world champion again.
“Mares is a tough fighter but i hope to be back soon. I have few issues around and I’m going home to sort all out and then see the way forward”. Said Agbeko
Joseph Agbeko is seeking to redeem his image as negotiations with WBA title holder Anselmo Moreno are already underway.
In an equally thrilling co-feature, Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno (31-1-1, 11 KOs) of Panama City, Panama, was victorious in his United States and SHOWTIME debut defending his World Boxing Association Bantamweight Super title with a 12-round unanimous decision against former two-time world champion Vic “The Raging Bull” Darchinyan (37-4-1, 27 KOs) of Sydney, Australia, by scores of 116-111, 117-110, 120-107.
