Healthcare delivery at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital( KBTH) grinds to a complete halt as the strike by the Allied Health professionals enters day five.
This group includes the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists, the Ghana Physiotherapy Association, and the Ghana Society of Radiographers, among 15 other professional associations that announced a strike on Wednesday, July 31.
They are currently managed by the hospital’s Medical Directorate but argue that their affairs are not being properly handled.

On the back of this, they are demanding the creation of a dedicated directorate.
However, hospital management failure to heed their calls lead to a suspension of outpatient services at the hospital on August 2.
JoyNews' visit to the central lab was greeted by a notice announcing the group's industrial action along with an apology for the inconvenience caused.
At the central laboratory of the hospital, patients needing lab tests were turned away as the professional bodies say they will not return to work until their demands are met.
