A son held for killing his father amazed cops by confessing to 636 crimes they previously had no hope of solving.
Martin Ellerton, 21, coughed to a list of offences described by a barrister as the largest he had ever seen.
Ellerton — whose seven-year spree began aged ten — knifed to death his dad Peter, 41, during a row in Bradford in 2007.
He got a minimum four years for manslaughter and while inside met cops to detail his other crimes.
Ellerton also took officers to see where he committed them, the city's crown court heard.
They included 268 burglaries, 175 thefts from vehicles and 173 offences of joyriding, involving property with a total value of £300,000.
His barrister Iain Johnstone said there was no evidence against Ellerton for the crimes and none would have been cleared up without his confessions.
Ellerton formally admitted three burglaries and one theft. But prosecutor Bashir Ahmed said the defendant had asked for a further 632 offences to be taken into consideration — "the most I have ever seen".
Det Chf Insp Mark McManus said: "This is an incredible amount of offences, certainly one of the highest amounts I have ever come across."
He added that they had "clearly impacted upon the lives of hundreds". Sentence was adjourned.
