The Directorate of Student Affairs (DoSA) at Kwame Nkrumah University Science Technology, has rolled out a suite of innovative platforms to enhance student life.
The DoSA initiatives target addressing accommodation, information dissemination, health issues and student-school relations to streamline student services.
The platform aims to offer a vital support system to students in need, reinforcing the university’s commitment to their well-being.
The inaugural KNUST DoSA Day was hosted on campus under the theme: “Advancing Sustainable Student Well-Being: The Collaborative Role of Stakeholders.”

With more than 85, 000 student population, the event aimed to highlight the Directorate’s ongoing projects and initiatives designed to enhance student support and well-being.
The DoSA Day celebration marks essential efforts to enhance student engagement and well-being at KNUST, setting a precedent for future initiatives aimed at creating a more supportive and inclusive campus environment.
Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson reiterated the institution's commitment to assist students to excel in all areas of endeavor in a competitive world.
“We have come a long way. Metamorphosing the Office of Student Affairs, to better serve students. It’s important that we can share a few thoughts. With increasing competition in every field. We feel students also feel the weight of the expectations that we have on you to excel in our academic works and extracurricular activities, and all aspects of your training. So DoSA is a specialised office concerned about your welfare,” she said.

Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Prof. James Osei Mensah, urged students to take advantage of the resources available through the Directorate, including reaching out for assistance.
“This event showcases the vital activities and projects undertaken by the Directorate of Student Affairs. DoSA is committed to ensuring that every student receives the maximum support they need to thrive academically, professionally and personally.
“DoSA Day will become an annual event, with each edition showcasing new projects and initiatives aimed at fostering a supportive environment for students. We want to create a culture of collaboration among all stakeholders in student affairs supporting you in your academic journey and beyond,” he said.
The event paved the way for the implementation of several key initiatives aimed at improving student life, including:
The DoSA KNUST Off-Campus Student Accommodation Support System (KOSASS) App: A digital solution to assist students in finding safe and affordable housing options off-campus.
The DoSA Operational Manual: A comprehensive guide outlining the services and support available to students.
The DoSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Established protocols to streamline student services and enhance efficiency.
DoSA Newsletter: A regular publication to keep students informed about upcoming events, resources, and opportunities.
DoSA Hygiene Essentials Bank: A resource providing essential hygiene products to students in need, available for both male and female students.
The Directorate of Student Affairs, Marian Asantewaa Nkansah handed to hundred students, the first batch of essential kits from the hygiene essential bank.
