The nominees for the 2010 BET Awards are out and Ghana's music maestro, Kojo Antwi, has been nominated in the Best International Act category. The category also has Nigerian talents MI and P-Square as well as South African’s HHP. This is the first time that African musicians have been nominated for the BET Awards.
Other musical artistes of African heritage nominated include Dizzee Rascal, whose dad is Nigerian and mom Ghanaian, Wale, Estelle, K’Naan and Sade, who are also nominated in the Best International Act category.
This year’s BET Awards will be hosted by Queen Latifah on June 27. World music bigwigs like Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Maxwell and Alicia Keys will all be in attendance. Whilst acts like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, and Dirty Money have all been announced as performers.
