This follows a one-week intensive training held between August 11–14, 2025, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, under the auspices of ECOWAS.

The session included 14 participants from the ECOWAS subregion representing Ghana (3), Gambia, Senegal, Nigeria, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Liberia, all carefully selected to receive training in election management and observation.

Koku Anyidoho brings to the role over five years of experience working with ECOWAS as an elections observer—monitoring polls in Guinea Conakry, Benin, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Senegal. This accreditation is set to strengthen his valuable contribution to democratic processes across Africa.

EISA, with headquarters in Johannesburg and Abidjan, is a pan-African institution originally established to support democratic transitions in post-apartheid South Africa. Its early work focused on conflict monitoring and election mediation.
