Former Ghana player Mohammed Gargo has indicated that under pressure caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu has reliable options available to slot in for the absent players.
Coach Konadu has been put in a tight corner ahead of Ghana’s AFCON qualifiers against Uganda and Togo this month after it was confirmed Kwadwo Asamoah will sit out the tie due to a knee injury.
Juventus announced on Wednesday that Kwadwo Asamoah had aggravated his knee injury and will require 15 days of rest to fully recover.
Already, Jordan Ayew is ineligible to play due to a card-related suspension and captain Asamoah Gyan remains a huge doubt.
“This opens the door to players like Mubarak Wakaso and talking about the Kwadwo Asamoah issue is another blow but this is a chance to see how good Christian Atsu can take the place,” he told Joy sports
“I will prefer to bring Mubarak Wakaso back to the left side of the pitch, take Atsu up and bring Agyemang Badu in midfield.
“And I will want to see Waris and Dede Ayew play upfront.”
Coach Maxwell Konadu is yet to release his squad for the two games involving Uganda and Togo this month
