Yaa Konadu Safo-Deboah won the Achimota Gold Club Ladies Monthly Medal Golf (Silver Division) at its first tournament for 2007 held at the club’s 18-hole all green course last Thursday.
Yaa Konadu returned 71 net, barely one shot under the course par score of 72 net beating M. Carrasco 72 net, Susie Abaloo Kumasah 74 net, club Captain Clara Price 77 net, and ever green Mona Captan 79 net playing to her single digit handicap of eight (8).
Enterprising Mary Morgan picked the booby prize with 87 net score.
In the Bronze Division, Erica Van Luit playing to handicap 28 took the first prize with a three-under par 69 net closely followed by Cecilia Hasting 73 net playing to the highest handicap allowance of 36.
The 3rd – 5th positions in this event had Francesca Vandyke 74 net, Postma 76 net and Ama Morgan 77 net following in that order.
The booby prize in this segment was claimed by Rosemary Orthena with an 84 net score.
Outgone, lady captain Clara Price, commended members for their cooperation, support and understanding in helping her and her committee to have gone through a successful season.
She wished all a happy 2007 and invited all to be at lady captains prize event at which the ‘baton of-honour’ will be handed over to Mary Hanson and her incoming committee.
