The CEO of Peterpan Restaurant, a Korean eatery operating in Accra, has been charged with assault by police in Accra, for allegedly slapping one of his Ghanaian employees with hot pizza.
Young Gyu Lee allegedly slapped the supervisor on duty on Tuesday, after a piece of pizza got burnt.
The victim, Cecilia Ampadu, reported the incident at the Airport Police Station, leading to the arrest of the CEO.
The Airport Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yaw Tetegah, told Accra-based Citi FM the police are looking for more witnesses to aid their investigations.
“We have called for witnesses to help us with the investigations and so far we are charging the gentleman with assault. She says she was slapped with hot pizza and we are investigating the case to establish the fact”, Citifmonline.com quoted Yaw Tetegah as saying.
Young Gyu Lee, who is also the Vice President of the Korean Residents Association of Ghana, has since been granted bail.
