Asante Kotoko legend Malik Jabir believes the club have enough quality to beat rivals Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League derby on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors lie three places above Hearts in fifth-place and separated by three points.
Kotoko are on a revenge mission after losing 1-0 at home in the corresponding fixture in October last year.
Jabir, who is now a technical advisor to the Executive director, is optimistic Kotoko have the edge.
“Matches involving the two sides are always uncompromising but this time around I believe this team knows they cannot let the teeming supporters down and that for me [it] is enough motivation for them to win on Sunday,” Jabir said
”There will always be tough-talk among the two fans but at the end of the day it’s up to the players who’re on the pitch to do the business.
”The coach will play a critical role by psyching them up for the game. Some of the players from both sides may be tasting the Kotoko-Heart fever for the first time and they’ll be keen to impress.”
