Human Rights and Public Interest Lawyer, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has called on government to collaborate with private individuals and NGOs to plant more trees and protect human life.
Lawyer Sosu made the call on Saturday August 11, 2018, when he celebrated this year's International Youth Day with the Youth of Madina.
Sosu who is also the President of the Youth for Human Rights Africa, joined the World Energy Council's Future Energy Leaders, GH, Pan-African Volunteers Network (PAVON) to mark this year's international youth day with tree planting in Madina Zongo a suburb of Accra.

Speaking briefly on the theme "Safe Spaces for Youth", Mr. Sosu explained that the International Youth Day is an awareness day designated by the United Nations with the primary aim of creating awareness on matters affecting the Youth.
He said: "as the future leaders of Ghana and eventually the world, the youth must be very interested in tree planting because trees represent life. Right to life is a fundamental right and tree planting is one of the ways to promote and protect right to life".
Many species of wildlife depend on trees for their habitation. Hence trees remain a very natural source of life.
Sadiki Dagadu, who is the Youth Chief of Zongo, thanked the organizers and Lawyer Sosu for their continuous support for the Islamic community especially the Zongo communities.

The former Assemblyman of Madina West, Alhaji Danteni, in a short speech also called for more support for Madina Zongo. He encouraged the youth of Madina to emulate the able leadership of the young volunteers and organizers of the event and dedicate their lives to serving their nation.
Lawyer Sosu among others, led in the planting of 200 seedlings within the Madina Zongo community and encouraged the residents to take it upon themselves to care for the seedlings until the grow to give Madina the desired benefits.
