Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer dramatically saved three consecutive penalties in the closing stages of their Europa League win over Roma.
The French side led through Hakon Arnar Haraldsson's sixth-minute strike after he capitalised on an error to score.
But hosts Roma were given the perfect chance to equalise and earn a draw when they were awarded an 80th-minute penalty after a handball by Aissa Mandi.
Substitute Artem Dovbyk stepped up to take the spot-kick but his effort was saved, only for referee Erik Lambrechts to order a retake after VAR ruled that defender Romain Perraud, who cleared behind for a corner after the save, had encroached into the area.
Dovbyk stepped up again only to be denied once more by the visiting keeper, but this time the Turkey international was judged to have stepped forward too early.
Responsibility to take the third effort was then given to Matias Soule, but he too was denied by Ozer and this time the save stood to help secure Lille's success.
Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini said afterwards: "I've never seen three missed penalties in one match. It was an almost unique, random situation, which ultimately compromised the result."
