Marcus Rashford should not be burdened by the weight of expectation at the age of only 18, says Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
Van Gaal is concerned the youngster will feel too much pressure after he scored twice against FC Midtjylland in a 5-1 Europa League win on Thursday before adding two more in the 3-2 win over Arsenal on his Premier League debut.
"Give him the time to be 18 years old, and we shall guide him also in that way," said Van Gaal. "He is a very modest guy, so I don’t think that shall be a problem; of course, when you have so much attention from the media, it can go in another way. But I believe he shall keep his feet on the ground."
Raford is set to continue up front for United.
Anthony Martial, Matteo Darmian and Chris Smalling could return to boost their bid for fourth straight win against Watford.
"The older players will guide him and I hope to guide you also in this press conference: he is getting too much attention and it’s not always easy to deal with that attention," said Van Gaal.
"It’s remarkable and I can understand that you are praising him, but still he has to show his consistency."

United bid for a fourth straight win against Watford, and Van Gaal is keen to keep his emotions in check after demonstrating a dive before fourth official Mike Dean near his technical area on Sunday.
"It is not a part of my philosophy, because I don’t think you can influence the game from that spot," said Van Gaal.
"But I am not a clown, I am Louis van Gaal, I am a human being and a manager. And the players have to think on the pitch, not the manager."
