President John Mahama has appointed the Executive Director at the Africa Center for Retirement Research, Abdallah Mashud, as the Technical Director of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT)
Sources say the appointment was made on March 24 2025.
JOYBUSINESS understands that Mr. Mashud will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and policy recommendations to the Trust.
He is expected to lead President Mahama’s Pension Reforms Agenda in this role.
Profile
Mr. Abdallah holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and an MSc in Actuarial Science from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He specialises in the design of public social security schemes, their mode of administration, and governance. He has vast industry experience, including over ten years of fruitful working stints with the SSNIT.
Before his appointment, he was the Executive Director of the Africa Center for Retirement Research (ACRR), a policy research think tank.
He is also a member of the International Network for Pension Research (INPeR).
He brings to his current role an in-depth practical knowledge of the workings of Social Security Systems and their Governance. Mr. Abdallah is a Pension Researcher and Consultant.
