The Freight Forwarder who is in court challenging government's decision, to allow West Blue Ghana limited, take over destination inspection at the ports, is calling on president Mahama to demonstrate his commitment to good governance.

Michael Kweku Djan said President Mahama can do that by opening the process up for competitive bidding.

Lawyer for Michael Djan this week re-filed the case asking the court to declare as illegal government’s decision to adopt sole sourcing in the award of the destination inspection at the port to West Blues Ghana limited.

The decision to go to court follows a letter written to the Finance Minister by the Chief of Staff instructing him to appoint West Blue Ghana Limited on sole sourcing to take over operations at the destination inspection.

Mr. Djan told Joy News the country will benefit more from an open tender.

"To the extent that there is lack of transparency in the transition process leading to the implementation of the single window platform leaves much to be desired.

"We expect that instead of handpicking Westblue Ghana Limited for this contract government will open up for competitive tendering to evaluate and select the best or the most suitable service provider for the project.

"In spite of my filing of the process today in court for the enforcement of my fundamental human rights I call on the president to give equal opportunity to me and all those interested in the implementation of this project and live up to the true meaning of the rule of law and due process.

"I will get justice in the law court not fearing any intimidation from the state," he said.
