In an era defined by global connectivity and technological advancement, few professionals embody international excellence like Seth Afari-Boateng. Rising from humble beginnings in Ghana to an international leadership position in Africa’s engineering sector, Seth’s career exemplifies innovation, resilience, and global impact.
Seth’s journey began with Delin Consult, where he contributed to traffic assessment projects that informed Ghana’s infrastructure decisions. His analytical mindset soon led him to PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Ghana, where he supported major clients in compliance and business advisory, a role that sharpened his understanding of corporate systems and financial operations.
Recognised for his academic promise, Seth received a competitive scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).
There, he developed advanced proficiency in data analytics, programming, and mathematical modelling, skills that would later distinguish his engineering approach. Building on this foundation, he was selected for the joint AIMS–ESMT Berlin Industry Immersion Programme in 2018, which bridges academic research and industry application. The experience deepened his exposure to industrial problem-solving and solidified his passion for engineering innovation.
Soon after completing the program, Seth joined Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions in Johannesburg as a Strategy, Markets & Development Intern, where he conducted market research and identified engineering partnership opportunities across Africa. His performance quickly propelled him through the ranks, culminating in his appointment as Regional Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa. In this role, he led teams that optimised supply chains, expanded service delivery, and managed technical operations across multiple industrial sites in Africa.

Equally inspiring is Seth’s commitment to mentorship and education. As a selection panellist and mentor for Industry Immersion Africa (iiAfrica), he supports emerging STEM graduates in bridging academic knowledge with industry readiness. His mentorship has directly contributed to the success of numerous young professionals across Africa.
From his academic distinctions to his transformative leadership across continents, Seth Afari-Boateng stands as a model of extraordinary ability and sustained contribution to the global industrial community. His story demonstrates how technical excellence, strategic insight, and international collaboration can drive industrial innovation on a global scale.
