Morocco's Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery has announced that the national under-20 football team will be given a hero’s welcome on Wednesday, October 22, in celebration of their historic triumph.
This is on the instructions of King Mohammed VI after the team won the World Cup held in Chile over the weekend.
According to the Ministry, the King will receive the players and officials of the national team at the Royal Palace in Rabat.
Following the royal audience, a popular procession will be held in their honour.
The celebratory parade will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m., as the team departs from the Royal Palace, passing through Bab Essoufara and along Avenue Mohammed V, where supporters are expected to gather in large numbers to celebrate Morocco’s unprecedented sporting achievement.
