Mr Godfred Tango, Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa East in the Upper West Region, has appealed to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide the district with a hospital to improve health care in the area.
He also called on the Ministry to find ways of motivating doctors to accept postings to the district.
The MP made the appeal when he donated some health equipment valued at GH¢30,000 to health facilities in the district.
Some of the equipment include; fetal stethoscopes, dissecting forceps, weighing scales, trolleys and Blood Pressure Apparatus.
Mr Tango said over the years, government had constructed a number of clinics in the district but stated that "an ill equipped health facility is as dangerous as a snake in the bush".

The MP, who donated solar panels to some health facilities last year, commended the health personnel working in the district for their sacrificial efforts and assured them of his commitment to help address some of the challenges confronting them.
Mr Thompson Dumba, District Director of Health Services who received the equipment thanked the MP for his support over the years and assured him that he would ensure a fair distribution of the equipment to all the 17 functioning health facilities in the area.
He mentioned lack of electricity, staff accommodation and bad roads as some of the challenges affecting quality health delivery in the district.
He appealed to the MP to support the facilities with delivery beds to provide some comfort for women who come to deliver.
A Representative of Naa Dr Kala Seidu, Chief of Bulenga expressed appreciation to the MP for the donation also appealed to him to liaise with the MOH to upgrade the local clinic to the status of a Polyclinic for enhanced health care for the people.
