MTN Ghana has demonstrated its commitment to promoting local culture and traditions with a GH¢72,000 donation and special festival offers to support this year’s Oguaa Fetu Afahye in Cape Coast.
The company presented GH¢40,000 to the Afahye Planning Committee, GH¢30,000 to the Oguaa Traditional Council, GH¢2,000 worth of airtime, and a drinks hamper ahead of the festivities.
Prince Owusu Nyarko, MTN’s Western and Central Regional Senior Manager, said the gesture reflects the company’s long-standing relationship with the Oguaa Traditional Council.
“We are here today to wish the Omanhen and the people of Cape Coast a successful festival. MTN has a good relationship with the traditional council, so every Afahye we come to pay homage. We are also giving our customers a special data offer, hosting a gaming night, and holding a musical concert to make this Afahye a very successful one,” Mr. Nyarko stated.
As part of the celebrations, MTN customers will enjoy discounted data bundles and bonus offers to stay connected and share their festival experiences. The company will also host a gaming night on Friday and a musical concert on Saturday at Chapel Square to entertain festival-goers.
Mr. Nyarko highlighted MTN’s dedication to supporting communities beyond connectivity.
“We know the importance of festivals and the growth of communities. Such support strengthens the relationship we have built with the various communities,” he added.
To enhance customer experience, MTN will set up service points at strategic locations in Cape Coast during the celebrations.
Receiving the donation, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Omanhen of Oguaa, expressed gratitude to MTN for its continuous support and urged the company to further improve service delivery to residents and businesses in the area.
