MTN Ghana has supported 25 babies born on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH) with baby care hampers as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The donation brought joy and relief to mothers in the maternity ward, many of whom were pleasantly surprised by the gesture during the festive season.

Each hamper contained essential newborn items, including diapers, baby powder, pomade, bathing soap, towels and other necessities to support mothers during the critical early days of childcare.

The Central and Western Regional Human Resources Manager of MTN Ghana, Regina Arkaifie, said the initiative was inspired by the company’s desire to share love and make a meaningful social impact, particularly in the health sector.

“Christmas is a season of love, hope and giving, and as a company rooted in the communities we serve, MTN believes it is important to extend that love to mothers and babies who share this special day with the nation,” she said.

She added that the donation forms part of MTN Ghana’s annual Christmas outreach programme, reinforcing the company’s commitment to community support, compassionate service and national development.

The Deputy Nursing Officer at CCTH, Veronica Koomson, expressed appreciation to MTN Ghana, noting that some expectant mothers arrive at the hospital without basic baby items.

Some of the beneficiaries described the support as timely and life-enhancing. Vida Obosu, who delivered a baby girl, described the gesture as a “Christmas blessing.”

“I was not expecting this at all. MTN’s support has really lifted a burden off my shoulders, and I am very grateful,” she said.

Another beneficiary, Salamatu Nuhu, also a mother to a baby girl, said the donation would make a significant difference.

“These items will really help me take care of my baby in the first few days. I thank MTN Ghana for remembering us on such a special day,” she said.
