The New Patriotic Party has become the second political party to receive a fully installed digital box from Multi TV at a brief ceremony in Accra.
The Managing News Editor of Joy News Television, MaryAnn Eyram Acolatse handed over the facility to a three-member team from the NPP led by a Deputy General Secretary, Abdulai Fulamba.
Eyram Acolatse said as a firm believer in multi-party democracy, the Multimedia Group will continue to seek greater working relations with all registered political parties in the country.
She said the Multimedia Group has amply demonstrated its commitment to political pluralism by the provision of airtime for current affairs and political discussion programmes such as “Caucus”, “Newsfile” and “pm: EXPRESS” among others on its network.
She hoped the presentation would deepen relations between the group and the party.
“We will continue to provide platforms for divergent views to enhance our political discourse. This is our contribution towards ensuring good governance and peaceful general elections in December”, she said.
A Deputy General Secretary of the party, Abdulai Fulamba was grateful to Multi TV for the gesture.
Finance Director for party and a former Member of Parliament for Adenta, Kwadwo Opare- Hammond commended Multimedia for its contribution to democracy in Ghana, saying the gesture was timely.
A Deputy Communications Director for the party, Yaw Buaben Asamoa described “Caucus”, a flagship political discussion programme on Multi TV as “the boldest concept so far by a media house within the current democratic space”.
The Convention People’s Party (CPP) was the first party to receive the fully installed digital box from Multi TV and its partners, Somotex Ghana Ltd earlier this month.
Multi TV will make similar presentations to the remaining political parties in the coming days.
