The NDC parliamentary aspirant for Walewale Constituency in the Northern Region has been suspended for breaching the party's constitution, a statement from the party has said.
The aspirant, Issahuku Ibrahim's suspension started Friday November 6, 2015.
According to a statement signed by the the Northern Regional Secretary, Hali Abdul Rauf, the Regional Executive Committeee of the NDCsuspended Issahaku for his failure to comply with Article 46 (6) of the party constitution which is in breach of article 45 (8) (a).
It was also stated that by his suspension, he ceases to be member of the party.

The statement further warned that other party executives and members would suffer similar fate if their activities are found to be in gross violation of the party’s constitution.
However, sources say Issahaku Ibrahim's suspension could have been brought about because he sued the party and another aspirant at a Tamale High Court.
He is said to have attempted to get the aspirent, Abudulai Abuba disqualified because he contested the 2012 parliamentary election on the ticket of the Peoples National Convention (PNC).
The court has since summoned the NDC Regional Executive Committee over the matter.
