The National Women’s Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Anita De Souza has stated that, the Ex-President Jerry Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings will be the most affected and victimized, if the party loses power in 2012.
Anita De Souza confessed on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday that she got tired of going to the courts every now a then in support of the former first lady at a point, after the NDC lost the 2000 elections, and cannot stand another incident of a similar magnitude.
Anita De Souza was reacting to a statement attributed to Nana Konadu, who allegedly caller her (Anita) a traitor. “I am surprised that Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is labeling me a traitor. I am thinking about how they will fare after the congress in July if they lost to President Mills”, she stated.
The National Women’s Organizer explained that she will even fast to prevent Nana Konadu from winning the candidature of the party over President Mills, if the need be.
She said she wished she had the opportunity to advise the former first Lady not to pick the nomination forms to contest in the July primaries since it will come to naught.
Asked why she supports President Mills ahead of her ‘mother’ Nana Konadu, Anita De Souza said President Mills is also capable enough to lead the party.
