The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Hohoe Constituency in the Volta Region has expressed confidence in winning back the seat from the New Patriotic Party.
Workanyo Tsekpo believes the electorates would vote for him as he has exhibited his commitment to the development of the constituency by undertaking social projects to solve critical challenges.
Mr Tsekpo was addressing supporters of the NDC during his campaign launch and filing of nomination forms to contest the parliamentary elections.
He noted that the massive turnout of NDC sympathizers sent a signal to the NPP that their candidate had lost the elections, even before December 7th.

He said “Today, I am more than convinced that the outgoing MP, John Peter Amewu will be a one-term MP”, and entreated his supporters to begin campaigning in earnest and leave no room for complacency.
Mr Tsekpo said the youth being the majority of the sympathizers who accompanied him to file his nomination indicated “they are tired and need a change, a change that will take them to the next level.”
“From here, what we all have to do for that change to come is to embark on a door-to-door campaign. I, the chairman, and the secretary have started already. Anywhere you find yourself, say something good about NDC, about Worlanyo Tsekpo.
"So that on December 7th, it won't only be those of us who are here that will vote for me but other electorates will join us to vote to help me win the election and for John Dramani Mahama to also win”, Mr Tsekpo added.
He asserted that his philanthropic works as a parliamentary aspirant surpasses what the incumbent MP and Minister of Railways, John Peter Amewu has initiated within the last 8 years.
"I have not been an MCE before, I have not been an MP before, I have not been a government appointee before, but what I have done is more than that of our Minister, who is our sitting MP", he stressed.
The NDC was defeated by the NPP with a difference of about 5,000 votes in the 2020 December 7th Hohoe parliamentary elections, a feat it is hoping to undo on December 7th, 2024.
