A constituency chairman of an opposition party NDP, has been killed in an accident as he followed the convoy of the party's presidential candidate and former First lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.
Isaac Mensah Afedzi who is the Offinso NDP constituency chairman died on the spot on the Techiman-Kumasi road in the Brong Ahafo region, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDP Mr. Owusu-Ansah confirmed.
The vehicle in which he travelled on along with others crashed head-on into another vehicle.
Eight other persons sustained various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman.
According to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDP, Mrs Rawlings has already left the constituency for the Western Region.
Family of the deceased has since been notified of his unfortunate demise.
