Ex-National Chapters Committee Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak Neil Amstrong Mortagbe has announced his candidature for the Ghana Football Association presidency.
Mr. Mortagbe who is presently a FIFA management consultant and marketer believes his in-depth knowledge in African football puts him in a better stead for the position.
“I bring a level of engagement especially with the lower ranks of Ghana Football to the table. I also bring my experience gained from my interaction with 14 football associations across the continent,” he told Joy Sports.
“…My working in FIFA also gives me direct access to a lot of very viable and useful resources that Ghana requires at this stage of our development,” he added.
Mr. Mortagbe will have a huge task of ousting incumbent FA chairman Kwesi Nyantakyi who is favourite to retain the position.
Mr. Nyantakyi was only last month elected as Caf committee member.
Mr. Mortagbe’s announcement brings to three candidates for the Football Association's presidential position that is to be contested in June this year.
King Faisal’s Chief Executive Officer Vincent Sowah Odotei is the third candidate vying for the position.
