Dignitaries at the first anniversary celebration of the Akuapem South District Assembly were highly disappointed, when the food they were asked to wait for never arrived until they all dispersed with empty stomach.
After sitting for long hours to mark the first anniversary of the Assembly, the invited guests were asked to wait for a while because their refreshment was being transported from Accra to the venue.
But it was later announced that the van transporting the food had developed a mechanical fault on the way after the Chiefs, Ministers and the other invited guests had left.
The Anniversary was to mark the creation of the new Assembly after it was created from the Aburi- Nsawam Constituency last year.
The invited guests, including the Eastern Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Krachi, Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Tourism Minister, Elizabeth Agyare-Fosu, some Chiefs of Akuapem Traditional Area and Regional Party Executives had to abandon the reception and leave for their various destinations after waiting for hours.
The programme, which began in the afternoon travelled through to late night around 10: 00 p.m., before it was announced that all invited guests should wait for a reception as a delivery van was transporting the food from Papaye Fast Foods in Accra to Akuapem.
Felt being delayed by food, both the Chiefs, Ministers as well as party executives decided to abandon waiting for the food and left for their various destinations on empty stomachs
