The Police Administration has urged police officers who could not cast their ballot during the Special Voting to exercise patience as the challenges being addressed.
A statement signed by the Police Director of Public Affairs, Cephas Arthur, says personnel who were denied the opportunity to vote will do that on December 7.
The Thursday's Special Voting exercise by the Electoral Commission (EC) faced challenges prominent among them is the missing names of security officers.
The exercise was organised for security officers, media personnel and electoral officers numbering 127,000 who would be playing roles in next week Wednesday's polls.
The Commission, after an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) extended the process to Sunday.
However, the second early voting exercise across the country is facing same challenges that bedeviled the Thursday's exercise. There are cases of missing names.
Some security officials have described the development as an 'elimination by rough tactics,' accusing the EC of deliberately disenfranchising them.
But the police command says it is working with the Commission to ensure all the officers cast their ballot next week.
"All regional, divisional and district commanders have been directed by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to arrange to ensure that their subordinates who could not exercise their franchise during the special voting could do so on the general election day," he said.
The arrangement is to ensure that the affected officers are able to vote and at the same time be able to provide security for the process.
