Despite the secret ballot rule, the Minority leader and Suame MP boldly displayed his vote on a constitutional amendment bill to change the election date to November.

Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu showed he voted against the crucial bill which needs votes from the Minority to get a super Majority before it can be passed.

The display of vote violates Article 104 clause 4 and Standing Orders 110 read out by the Speaker of Parliament before voting began.

His actions caused a stir in parliament and a brief hold up in parliamentary proceedings.

The move could attract sanctions from Parliament. But the order was restored and voting continued.

Despite 183 votes needed to pass the bill, the Majority is already weakened by absenteeism.
