NPP chairman shot dead in Bawku

A polling station chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party in the Bawku municipality of the Upper East Region has been shot dead by unidentified assailants on Thursday evening. Joy News correspondent Joseph Osei said the victim, identified as Amadu Danladi, believed to be in his 50s, was reported to have been killed in his house at Missiga. The Bawku Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Kwaku Boadu Peprah, told Joy News he dispatched personnel to the area immediately he was told of the incident Mr Danladi was shot in the chest whilst having a meal with his wife, who also sustained bullet wound. The Bawku Municipality is currently under curfew due to the intermittent unrest in the area between two ethnic groups – Mamprusis and Kussasis. Story by Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
