The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is holding a prayer session at the Essipong stadium in the Western region Sunday to pray for peaceful presidential and parliamentary elections in December. Party bigwigs including flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former President John Agyekum Kufuor are expected to attend the interdenominational prayer session. Boakye Agyarko, Campaign Manager for Nana Akufo Addo, explained to Joy News the prayer session “is a service that our presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the party seriously wants us to have [and] the theme for the service Stepping Forth Through The Hand Of God.” According to Mr Agyarko, “It is our absolute conviction that before we engage in any serious campaigning, we are in an election year, we need to commit the presidential candidate, all the 230 parliamentary candidates, the campaign, the party and indeed the entire nation into the care and mercy of God so that his will will be done.” The Metro Mass Transit limited earlier canceled an arrangement with the party to provide buses for the ceremony. But Mr. Agyarko said the matter has been resolved.
