Sacred Heart Senior High School has narrowly defeated host school Sunyani SHS to win the final contest of the Bono regional qualifiers and book a spot in the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) national championship.

The contest was tightly contested from start to finish, drawing loud cheers from students and supporters.
The win marks Sacred Heart’s second-ever qualification to the national championship, their last being in 2015 where they were eliminated in the prelims.

Despite coming second in the contest, Sunyani SHS also qualifies for the national championship after amassing over 40 points, maintaining their record of appearances at the national level.
Odomaseman SHS and Sumaman SHS finished with 15 and 14 points respectively.
With this result, the Bono regional qualifiers come to a close, with six schools advancing to the national championship, while five schools qualified for the regional finals: Notre Dame Girls’ SHS, Berekum Presby SHS, Methodist SHTS–Berekum, Dormaa SHS, and Sacred Heart SHS. The current champion, Sunyani SHS, will not progress to the regional finals.
