Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak Dr.Nyaho Tamakloe has applauded the decision of the management of the club for appointing Ex. black stars captain C K Akunnor as their substantive technical handler.
Charles Akunnor takes over Hearts of Oak for the rest of the season and will be joined on the bench by his former international team mate Yaw Preko and the duo will be introduced to the team after Wednesday’s Ghana Premier League match against Medeama SC.
The ex-Wolfsburg captain returns to club management after being sacked by then top flight side Eleven Wise in January 2010.
He was assistant coach for the 2011 Ghana Under-17 who failed to qualify for the African Championship.
The 38-year-old is currently working as deputy Ghana Under-20 coach and a trainer at the renowned Right To Dream Academy in Ghana.
Hearts of Oak parted ways with Serbian trainer Nebojsa Vucicevic last Friday by mutual consent.
"Definitively CK can handle Hearts of Oak, we had a lot of people who handled Hearts but none came close but i don't want to mention names, CK will surely succeed, his dressing on the bench tells you how professional he is and how well he will handle players" Nyaho told JOY Sports
Meanwhile, the 2000 CAF Champions league champions are nine points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko with 11 matches to the end of the season.
