After some time on the quiet, Obrafour, ‘Ghana Rap Sofour’ (Ghana’s rap priest) is out with ‘Kasiabo’ and is turning out to be by far one of the most controversial songs to be released by any artiste in the country.
The song which features Guru has a concept of Guru as radio presenter calling Obrafour to speak and react to issues in the hip life music scene since he has been away.
His comments to some of the issues seem not to have gone down well with some of the artistes ‘concerned’ in the interview.
In parts of the song, Guru sought Obrafour’s view on someone claiming to be the best rapper alive but his albums do not reach five.
The song again took a jibe at Obour and Okyeame Kwame’s song ‘The Game’ in which the two claimed Hiplife was dying and prescribed remedies
But Obrafuor's Kasiebo had a completely different opinion on the state of hiplife, asking “how can we save it (hip life) with Atopa Jenjen,” a track by Obuor.
In an extensive and exclusive interview with Myjoyonline.com, Obrafour attributed his three year absence from the music scene to ill health. “I was affected by strange illness which doctors could not even imagine. It nearly ended my life.”
He thanked Jesus for his life “Jesus has shown me so much love to spare my life. God spared my life to use any means to talk about him and his good works.”
Obrafour rubbished the challenge from Okyeame Kwame to meet him on any day and time on DJ Black’s Open House Party Show to resolve the issue.
“I am not an underground rapper. I didn’t say he does not deserve to be the best rapper alive. I know that between him and Akyeame, he has more than five albums. So what shows that I was refering to him?”
If Okyeame Kwame says he has something to say to my song, he should reply me through a song. His suggestion is so childish.”
Obrafour recounted exclusively to Myjoyonline.com that when he released the ‘Kasiabo’ song, Okyeame Kwame sent him a text message saying “I am disappointed in you, what are you trying to start?”
“I replied that: What are you talking about?”
“I later called and told him that: I will not do a song and mention your name in the song. I told him the song is not about him but he insisted that the song was about him.” He added.
Obrafour said the track is only the tip of the iceberg and “I want to prove to the doubting Thomases that I am still here.”
Okyeame kwame in an interview with Myjoyonline said, “My only comment is Proverb 26:4. I have sent an invitation to Obrafour to appear on the Open House Party Show on any day of his choice for us to resolve the issue. My brand (Okyeame Kwame) does not allow me to insult people. It is a matured brand.”
Obrafour reacting to the biblical quotation from Okyeame Kwame said “He should also go and read Daniel 4:28-37.”
The ‘Kasiabo’ track is on Obrafour’s new album titled “Asem be ba debi”. He says the album has 15 songs on it and it features new artistes like; Guru, Ghetto KD and Rachel. Ghanaians should expect the album by the end of this month, he added.
